Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will not be included in the squad to face Fiorentina in Saturday’s Serie A clash.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Belgian completed part of a full training session, but that it is still very unlikely that he will be ready to be in the squad on Saturday.
Lukaku has finally made his return to full training today after several weeks out with a thigh injury, and the hope had been that the 29-year-old would be ready to at least make the bench to face La Viola.
However, the feeling after the initial training session is that the striker will still have a little ways to go.
Now, the hope is that Lukaku will be fit for the team’s Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen next week.
The final assessments regarding Lukaku’s availability for Friday’s match will be carried out tomorrow morning.
