Inter are likely to line up with a midfield trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is set to reprise the starting midfield that he’s been using in the Champions League.
Calhanoglu has been starting at the base of midfield for Inter since the team’s Champions League win against Barcelona at the San Siro.
Flanking the Turk have been Barella and Mkhitaryan, and this trio has provided the right balance in the centre of the pitch.
Accordingly, Inzaghi is ready to use this midfield from the start against Fiorentina.
Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also report that both Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi will be in the lineup as had been the case against Salernitana.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted eleven for the match is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Skriniar, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro.
