Edin Dzeko has continued to prove that he can be the man to score important goals for Inter whilst Romelu Lukaku has been out injured.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note the scope of the Bosnian’s contributions in today’s print edition.

Last season, Dzeko had frequently proven his match-winning qualities by popping up with goals in important moments for Inter, both in Serie A and in the Champions League.

This season, the 36-year-old had not been expected to be the main striker alongside Lautaro Martinez, given Lukaku’s arrival.

However, the Belgian has missed the vast majority of Inter’s matches so far, leaving Dzeko with work to do.

The Bosnian has managed well, with his match-winning brace against Sassuolo in the league and an opener away to Viktoria Plzen highlighting what he still brings to the table.

Now, Lukaku is back from his injury, and closer than ever to making a return to the pitch.

However, the Belgian is expected to be left out of the squad for tomorrow’s Serie A clash away to Fiorentina, leaving Dzeko the likely candidate to start alongside Martinez.

Dzeko has one more big job to do for the Nerazzurri, and the view of the Corriere, he can hardly be counted out.
