Edin Dzeko is set to start in attack for Inter in tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Bosnian will start alongside Lautaro Martinez in the continued absence of Romelu Lukaku who won’t be in the squad.

Dzeko has been filling in as Martinez’s main strike partner since Lukaku picked up a thigh strain at the end of August.

The 36-year-old has continued to show why he has been trusted as Lukaku’s deputy with some important goals and a fairly consistent standard of performances.

Lukaku had been considered for the bench against La Viola tomorrow, but will instead continue to train back in Milan.

Accordingly, Dzeko will be given at least one more assignment filling in for the Belgian.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi continues to trust the Bosnian to bridge the gap with Lukaku out for one more match.
