Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano is seeking his first victory over opposite number Simone Inzaghi when they face Inter in Serie A this evening, Italian media highlight.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Spezia coach has a disappointing record against Inzaghi when coming up against his Inter and Lazio sides, and is yet to taste victory against him.

The two coaches have come up against each other four times, with Inzaghi besting Italiano on three occasions and the pair sharing a draw once.

Fiorentina are also on a miserable run of form against Inter, with their last win against the Nerazzurri coming in a thrilling 5-4 classic in April 2017.

The Viola have since gone 10 games in Serie A without taking all three points from Inter, whilst this is extended to 12 matches when taking the Coppa Italia into account.

However, Fiorentina will be roared on by a fully sold out Stadio Artemio Franchi as they seek victory this evening, with 35,000 fans expected.
