Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan warned that the Nerazzurri were not quite back to their best yet after a 4-3 win over Fiorentina, but that it was coming.

The former Armenia international netted a last-gasp winner at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this evening to secure all three points, after Inter had earlier thrown away a 2-0 and a 3-2 lead in the game.

Speaking to Italian television broadcaster DAZN after the final whistle in Florence, as reported by FCInterNews.it, the former Manchester United and Arsenal midfielder reflected on his first goal for Inter and insisted that they hadn’t hit top form yet.

“We’re not back yet, but we will be. We want to be perfect and we will succeed for sure,” the summer signing from Roma claimed.

“This was my first goal for Inter, a special moment because it’s worth a very important victory, we want to show that we deserve the top of the table.”

Despite securing the win, the Nerazzurri were shaky in defence and have now conceded 17 league goals this term, but Mkhitaryan argued that the best form of defence was to improve in attack.

“We do concede too many, but the important thing is to score more,” he claimed.

“We have to score more to improve defensively, we knew that Fiorentina wouldn’t be easy but it is also thanks to my teammates who have shown they can score four goals after conceding three.”
