Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is expected to call upon Joaquin Correa to partner Lautaro Martinez when the Nerazzurri face Fiorentina in Serie A this evening.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentine pair are set to lead the line at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, as Inter seek to get their Scudetto challenge on track with victory.

With Romelu Lukaku still not ready to feature, Inzaghi has a decision to make amongst his strikers but it is believed that Correa has seen off the challenge of Edin Dzeko, and will be named amongst the starters.

Inzaghi is also expected to retain defenders Francesco Acerbi, Stefan De Vrij, and Milan Skriniar, whilst Matteo Darmian is in line to start at right wing-back.

Meanwhile, the links between Martinez and ex-Fiorentina icon Gabriel Batistuta have been assessed by the newspaper, with the former Argentina international instrumental in bringing Martinez to Inter.

It is highlighted that when Martinez was born, in 1997, Batistuta was at the peak of his powers, but the current Inter striker has the opportunity to leave his mark on the former’s stomping ground.
