Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi did not to his team after Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal because it could have been disallowed.
Simone Inzaghi described his muted emotions following his club’s last-minute 4-3 win away against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday.
“Lautaro had a great game and he has being playing at a high level since August.
“It is normal that he has been scoring in the last few games,” said Inzaghi to Inter TV via FCInterNews.
“I sat down [after Mkhitaryan’s goal] because I could have ran 50 meters and then it could have been disallowed.
“The players did well to believe and to win an important game,” concluded the former Lazio manager.
The Inter manager has turned around his club’s poor run of form after losing 2 straight games in Serie A to Udinese and AS Roma.
His team are now on a 5 game unbeaten streak, with wins in Serie A against Sassuolo, Salernitana and Fiorentina and their next league game is against Sampdoria on October 29.
Inzaghi was also able to take 4 points in the UEFA Champions League from Barcelona, by beating them 1-0 at the San Siro on October 4 and then drawing 3-3 at the Camp Nou on October 12.
Inter face Viktoria Plzen in their next game on Wednesday at the San Siro at 18:45 CET and a win can guarantee qualification for the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
