Italian media argue that Inter defender Federico Dimarco had a disastrous performance in his club’s 4-3 against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Inter defender Federico Dimarco’s poor performance was only saved by referee Paolo Valeri, who did not send off the player after his challenge on Bonventura in the 30th minute.

“It was not [Dimarco’s] night and he knew it right away,” wrote the Gazzetta dello Sport via L’Interista.

“Committed a disastrous error which conceded a penalty to Fiorentina,” wrote Tuttosport.

“[Dimarco] was saved by Valeri,” concluded the Corriere dello Sport.

Prior to this performance, Federico Dimarco has been one of players that have helped in Inter’s return to form.

The former Hellas Verona defender has made 11 appearances in Serie A and scored one goal so far this season.

The Inter left-back has also made 3 appearances in the UEFA Champions League so far this season and provided an assist in his club’s 1-0 win against Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that Dimarco quickly returns to his previous form, as Inter face off against Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday at the San Siro at 18:45 CET in the UEFA Champions League. A win will secure qualification in the Round of 16.
