Inter striker Lautaro Martinez underlined the importance of winning before their UEFA Champions League games Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday.
Inter’s Argentinean international Lautaro Martinez was focused on his club’s victory prior to their game in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday in his post-match comments to Inter TV via FCInterNews.
“I scored a great goal today. It was important to win before the game against Viktoria [Plzen]. We deserved to win based on what we did on the pitch and we have to show up ready for the [UEFA Champions League] game,” said the Argentinean striker.
“It was important to be confident [for the penalty]. I had already decided where to kick the ball and when I did, I hit it with power,” concluded the Inter player.
Lautaro Martinez has been a good run of form as he has scored 4 goals in his last 3 appearances in all competitions.
The Inter striker scored in the 3-3 draw against Barcelona at the Camp Nou and then in the back-to-back Serie A games against Salernitana and Fiorentina.
The Nerazzurri are hoping that the Argentinean international’s good run of form continues, as they face off against Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday at the San Siro at 18:45 CET. A win will secure qualification in the Round of 16.
Inter’s next Serie A game is against Sampdoria on October 29 at the San Siro at 20:45 CET.
