Football analytics provider Opta have revealed the early impact made by Inter striker Lautaro Martinez during yesterday’s 4-3 win over Fiorentina in Serie A.

The Argentina international set up Nicolo Barella in the opening two minutes before netting the first of his brace within the opening quarter of an hour.

In a tweet, Opta reported that he is the first Inter striker to register a goal and assist in the first 15 minutes of a game since Diego Milito 11 years ago.

“1+1 – Lautaro Martínez has become the first Inter striker to have both scored and delivered an assist in the opening 15 minutes of play in a Serie A match since Diego Milito, on January 19th, 2011, against Cesena. Albiceleste,” Opta posted.
