Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to be fit enough to start on the bench in the team’s Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen over the week.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that in all likelihood the Belgian will start the group stage match on the bench but then appear some time during the match.

Lukaku missed out on Inter’s trip to Tuscany to face Fiorentina in Serie A on Saturday entirely.

However, this may be the last match that the Belgian is out for during the recovery process from the thigh strain that he’s been dealing with for the past few weeks.

The 29-year-old completed a full training session with the rest of his teammates today.

Having already had a few full training sessions under his belt, the feeling is that if Lukaku is able to train normally over the next few days then there is little reason why he cannot finally be called up to a matchday squad, although he may not be able to start against Plzen.
