Inter look to have taken until October to really find form this season, and this is not necessarily unusual for Simone Inzaghi’s teams.
This pattern is noted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who suggest that the signs could be positive that the coach has gotten the team going if past precedent is anything to go by.
Inter’s start to the season could hardly have been described as positive or even acceptable, but the last few weeks have been the diametrical opposite to those struggles.
Three consecutive Serie A wins and four massive points against Barcelona in the Champions League have seen the Nerazzurri look like a team reborn.
This is often how it went with Lazio under Inzaghi as well.
The Biancocelesti did not always kick of their seasons in the most convincing fashion, but particularly in the 2017-18 and 2019-20 campaigns, the month of October was the springboard for a completely different run of form.
At Inter last season as well, the Nerazzurri suffered from some early season jitters, before they started to look like the best version of themselves in October.
That October turnaround was the platform for a winning run in Serie A that lasted between November and January for Inter, and for the Gazzetta a similar emergence in form could be on the cards this time around as well.
