Swedish referee Andreas Ekberg has been appointed to be in charge of Inter’s Champions League group stage clash at home to Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday evening.
This is confirmed by an official announcement by UEFA that the Swede will officiate the fixture in midweek, via FCInterNews, which also lists the rest of the crew for the match.
Ekberg will be assisted in his duties by the likes of Mehmet Culum and Niklas Nyberg as assistant referees, both also Swedish.
Meanwhile, the role of fourth official will be filled by Fredrik Klitte to complete an all-Swedish on-pitch crew.
In the VAR booth, German Bastian Dankert will oversee the match to ensure that any clear and obvious errors are corrected, whilst he will be assisted in his duties by Christian Dinkert.
The Nerazzurri will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than on any refereeing controversies as they look to secure a place in the Champions League knockout stages.
