Inter forward Joaquin Correa is at risk of being dropped from the Argentine national team’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 28-year-old’s struggle for form and fitness for the Nerazzurri and the number of attacking options that the Albiceleste have mean that he may not be included in the final squad for the tournament.
Correa has been a regular in Argentina’s squad under coach Lionel Scaloni, although not always in their starting eleven.
Scaloni has called up eleven forwards to the Albiceleste’s provisional squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
The complete list of forwards for the tournament is Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martinez, Angel Di Maria, Nico Gonzalez, Julian Alvarez, Paulo Dybala, Angel Correa, Giovanni Simeone, Thiago Almada, and Alario, in addition to Inter’s Correa.
Whilst Correa’s Nerazzurri teammate Martinez is virtually certain to be included in the final squad, it is far from clear that Correa will be.
