Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is targeting a return to the squad for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 29-year-old is getting closer and closer to a recovery from his thigh injury, and could be in the squad to face the Blucerchiati.

Brozovic has been out with his thigh strain since the September international break, which has caused him to miss the past six matches between the league and the Champions Legue.

The Croat will not be in the team for tomorrow evening’s Champions League group stage match against Viktoria Plzen.

It may not be long after that before Brozovic is back in the team, however.

The 29-year-old is working in training with next weekend’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria as the target for his return from injury.

It will remain to be seen if the Croat can be back on Saturday or if this will still be a bit too early for him.
