Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s participation in tomorrow evening’s Champions League group stage match against Viktoria Plzen will likely be determined by how the match is going.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will base his decision on how to use the Belgian on the state of the match.
Lukaku will be included in the squad for tomorrow evening’s match against Plzen, but the 29-year-old will start.
Rather, the striker should be given a chance from the bench at some point, his first competitive action in around two months.
Inzaghi will want to give Lukaku the right amount of time on the pitch to start finding his form, but without putting too much physical strain on him.
The coach will hope to have the luxury of having the match all but wrapped up in the second half, in which case he can give Lukaku a run-out in favourable circumstances.
If the Nerazzurri are still chasing the victory as the match goes on, however, all bets could be off.
