Sampdoria coach Dejan Stankovic is ready to start preparing to meet his old team Inter next weekend, but for now he is just celebrating his first victory in charge of the Blucerchiati.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, Stankovic explained that he will start shifting his focus to the Nerazzurri over the coming days.

Sampdoria had been without a win in Serie A going into their clash with Cremonese yesterday, under Stankovic’s predecessor Marco Giampaolo and then under the legendary former Nerazzurri and Lazio midfielder.

Stankovic took on a tough job in his first coaching position in Serie A.

However, the treble-winner now has a real foothold to build upon in the Ligurians’ push for top flight survival.

Stankovic and Sampdoria will travel to the San Siro on Saturday, and they will do so higher on confidence than they had been before they secured their 1-0 victory away against Cremonese.

“I’m not thinking about Inter right now,” Stankovic said. “There will be several days to think about that, for now I’m just celebrating this win.”
