Inter President Steven Zhang is hoping to secure Champions League group stage qualification before considering selling the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri President is still hoping to leave behind the best competitive legacy possible, and to make the club as attractive to buyers as he can.

It seems clearer and clearer that Suning are ready to sell Inter in the foreseeable future based on recent reports.

However, this does not mean that the current owners are ready just yet, and one of the main items on their agenda is making sure the team is headed in the right direction on the pitch.

One of the reasons that Zhang and Suning had been reluctant to sell Inter to BC Parnters in 2021 was that they did not want to leave without winning the Scudetto.

With that achieved, the owners also stayed on in the hopes of reaching another Serie A title, which they did not do.

The team did, however, win the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana in addition to reaching the Champions League knockout rounds for the first time in eleven years.

This season, the knockouts look within reach again, and this among other things is part of the legacy that Zhang wants to leave behind.
