Viktoria Plzen captain Lukas Hejda is hoping for a high-quality and memorable match against Inter at the San Siro tomorrow.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the Czech defender gave his thoughts on the Champions League group stage match, including singling out striker Edin Dzeko as a player whose quality he admires.

Inter host Plzen at the San Siro tomorrow evening, and the stakes will be enormous given that the Nerazzurri can secure qualification for the knockout rounds with a victory.

Three points should certainly not be taken for granted, however, even with the fact that the Nerazzurri managed a fairly straightforward 2-0 victory in the away match.

Hejda is hoping that his team can hold up their end of the bargain and provide a quality match for both sets of supporters.

The 32-year-old expects a serious and determined performance, and hopes that the best team prevails on the day.

“It will be a very difficult match of course,” Hejda said, “and may the best team win.”

“It will be a difficult match against a strong Inter team of course,” he continued, “but I hope it’s a great match for both teams and for our supporters who travel to the San Siro with us.”

Hejda made clear that “We want to do everything we can in the Champions League and show our best in every match,” in case there was any expectation that the Czech champions wouldn’t put up much of a fight.

Asked if there are any Inter players he particularly admires, the Plzen captain named “Edin Dzeko, for example, is a player who’s scored against us several times in the past.”

“There are several top players in the Nerazzurri team, however.”
