Former Torino defender Massimo Brambati feels that the number of goals that Inter conceded against Fiorentina on Saturday is hardly befitting a team of their ambitions.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Brambati suggested that the Nerazzurri must tighten up at the back compared to how they played against La Viola going forward.

Inter managed to take home three points from their trip to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to face Fiorentina.

However, it was hardly as straightforward an evening as the Nerazzurri will have expected, particularly when they went 2-0 up during the first half.

Inter needed to reestablish their lead twice, and in truth conceding goals cheaply as been a trend for them all season.

The Nerazzurri cannot always rely on scoring four goals in matches to erase the goals they concede, and so the focus must shift to the defense if they are to have the kind of season they want to going forward.

“Inter’s problem shown against Fiorentina is that a team like that can’t keep conceding as many goals as they did,” Brambati said.

“If they’re conceding as many goals as that, it shows that there’s something wrong that needs to be addressed.”
