Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has yet to make his decision between Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi as to who will start in the centre of a back three against Viktoria Plzen this evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that this position remains one of the coach’s main selection doubts ahead of the Champions League group stage match.
Alessandro Bastoni is expected to start on the left of the back three, according to Tuttosport.
This will mean that Acerbi will not start on the left of the backline as he did in Saturday’s Serie A win over Fiorentina.
The 34-year-old could be moved into the centre of the defense from the left-sided position.
However, there is also a very good chance that de Vrij could start centrally, with Acerbi dropping to the bench.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport also report that along with Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries and Edin Dzeko will come into Inter’s starting eleven.
