Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana feels that the team will have to prove their level in this evening’s Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the group stage clash, with 26-year-old stressed that it is an important match and the players must rise to the occasions.

This evening’s match could prove to be one of the most significant in the context of Inter’s season.

With a victory, the Nerazzurri would secure a place in the Champions League knockout rounds for the second season in a row.

Achieving three points will hardly be easy, however.

Despite Inter’s superiority to this evening’s opposition on paper, it will be a tough match both physically and mentally.

The reward for the Nerazzurri would be immense, however, and Onana hopes that the team can prove that they deserve it.

“It’s a very important match for us, it’s a crucial moment, we have to accept our responsibility and show that we’re a great team with great players,” the goalkeeper said.

“I’m sure we’ll do it again on the pitch tonight.”

Asked if he expects Plzen to play differently than they did in the reverse fixture, the Cameroonian replied that “The truth is that we aren’t focused on them, the important thing is that we play our game.”

“We’ve trained very well so far and we know we can play a good match, and if we do then the result will follow.”

“I’m sure that with our fans behind us we’ll be even stronger,” Onana added.

“We know what we need to do in this match, and we can be even better together with out supporters here.”
