Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani is happy with the progress that he’s been making at the Nerazzurri.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Viktoria Plzen, the 20-year-old noted that it is especially important for him to succeed at the Nerazzurri as he has been a fan of the team since his childhood.
Asllani has not exactly immediately become a fixture in Inter’s starting eleven.
The Albanian has made just two starts so far during the campaign, whilst he has otherwise mostly been restricted to cameo appearances.
However, the former Empoli midfielder has already shown some real flashes of what he’s capable of.
Moreover, the sense is that behind the scenes there is great patience, trust, and belief in the 20-year-old.
As far as Asllani is concerned, he is on the right track and he is happy with his situation.
Of qualifying for the Champions League knockouts, Asllani said that “It was a great feeling, especially for meas I’ve been an Inter fan since I was a young boy.”
“Things went how they did against Barcelona [referring to his failure to score a winner], but things went perfectly here and I have to thank the guys for sparing my blushes.”
“We’re happy,” the 20-year-old said, “it was a really difficult group.”
“We did well to progress from it, doing so was fundamental.”
“Now we go back to the league, and then we start shifting our focus to the knockout rounds,” he added.
Of his settling-in process at Inter, Asllani said that “I’m happy.”
“It’s going very well,” he continued.
“It’s normal that I’m not playing as much, because I have very good players players ahead of me, I try to learn as much as possible every day by taking things from the games of great players, especially Brozovic and Calhanoglu, and I have to keep working.”
