Viktoria Plzen head coach Michael Bilek has made clear that his team do not intend to simply roll over for Inter at the San Siro this evening.

Speaking to Amazon Prime ahead of the Champions League match, the Plzen coach expressed the desire to prove that they are up to the task of playing well against a high-level team at an iconic stadium in Europe.

On paper, there is little question that Inter are favourites to beat Plzen this evening.

Whilst the Czech side are doing well in their domestic campaign, they have yet to take a point in the Champions League group, with the Nerazzurri having gotten a fairly easy 2-0 win in the reverse fixture.

However, Plzen will have pride to play for, as Bilek pointed out.

The Czech champions will be aiming to show that, even in a tough match against highly-motivated and top-level players, they will not look over-awed.

“It will certainly be a very difficult match,” Bilek said, “we’ve already faced Inter and they showed themselves to be an excellent team.”

“We’ll give it our all,” he added, “we have nothing to lose but we want to prove our worth against such strong opposition, and not simply roll over on such a big occasion.”
