Inter are ready to put their faith in young Sporting Defensor defender Alan Matturro in the same way that AC Milan have done with Pierre Kalulu.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note the parallels between the 18-year-old who the Nerazzurri are tracking, and young Rossoneri defender Kalulu.

Inter appear to be poised to get a deal done for Matturro to sign during next summer’s transfer window.

The young Uruguayan is a player who the Nerazzurri have had their eye on for a while, and they are ready to put their faith in him.

According to Tuttosport, Inter’s thinking is similar to that of their city rivals with Kalulu.

The young Frenchman joined Milan as a youth prospect from Milan, and was not immediately a major figure in the Rossoneri’s senior team.

However, injuries and departures in the defensive positions meant that Kalulu was turned to more and more, both at right-back and especially at centre-back.

Now, the 22-year-old is a key man at the heart of the Rossoneri’s defense, and has strengthened the team without a big fee being involved.

Inter could be looking to do something similar with Matturro.

There is always uncertainty in Inter’s backline, with Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij seeing their current contracts expire at the end of the current season.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Bastoni remains the subject of transfer interest from many of Europe’s top clubs, and it can never be guaranteed that he may not be sold.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri are aiming to take a page from their city rivals’ book, and reinfroce their defensive ranks with talent for the future so that they won’t be caught unawares if they lose hold of important players in the future.
