Inter wingback Federico Diamrco feels that the Nerazzurri have demonstrated that they are up to any challenge this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after yesterday evening’s 4-0 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen, the 24-year-old stressed seeing how far the team can go on after what they’ve shown already.

Inter still have many challenges laying ahead of this season.

They face them, however, with the confidence that comes from having reached a massive goal by booking their place in the Champions League knockouts from a very tough group.

Dimarco and his teammates faced many obstacles, but with two wins against Plzen and four points against Barcelona, they have shown their qualities.

Now, the Nerazzurri will have to write their future with all the trophies still on offer and still in the balance.

“We’re very happy,” Dimarco said after the win over Plzen.

“We made ourselves, the fans, and the club happy,” he continued.

“Progressing from a group like this isn’t for everyone,” the 24-year-old said, “I think it was the most difficult group in the Champions League, and we’re happy to have qualified for the round of sixteen.”

Dimarco noted that “Pressure is part of the game, but we didn’t blink in the face of the opposition, we just played our game.”

“This team has to think one match at a time, we can compete with anyone, and then let’s see how far we go.”

Dimarco also spoke about returning striker Romelu Lukaku, stating that “For a striker like him to be out for two months and then return with a goal, it’s a massive boost in confidence.”
