Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is not likely to be called up to the squad for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Croat trained separately today, and would be very unlikely to be fit to face the Blucerchiati.

Brozovic is getting very close to fitness, and there was optimism that the 29-year-old would be fit in time to face Sampdoria this weekend.

However, today’s training session was a decisive one to determine whether the midfielder would be fit for Saturday, and he was not part of the full training session.

Over the next few days, however, Brozovic should return to full training along with the rest of the squad.

It will remain to be seen whether or not Brozovic is able to be part of the squad that travels to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week, a match which will have no effect on the outcome of the group.
