Inter are aiming to receive a decision from defender Milan Skriniar regarding his prospective contract extension before the World Cup break.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri would want ample time to assess the future during the break, with certainty regarding the Slovakian’s situation.

Inter started contract talks with Skriniar and his representatives yesterday, and they do not want the negotiations to drag out.

Given that the 27-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2023, it cannot be excluded that the club could decide to sell him in January in the event that no agreement on an extension is found.

To this end, the club want to be certain one way or the other before the break.

If the Nerazzurri are assured that Skriniar will extend, then they can move forward on this basis, while if he decides not to, then they can plan accordingly.
