Inter coach Simone Inzaghi insists that his side have already moved on from their Champions League success in midweek and are prepared for a tough battle against Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri face the relegation threatened Blucerchiati at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as they seek a fourth consecutive league win, after a mixed run of form earlier in the season, and would move back into the European qualification places with a victory.

Speaking to Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of kick-off, as reported by FCInterNews.it, Inzaghi did not want to become complacent after emerging from a Champions League group containing Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

“There is enthusiasm, victories bring happiness and confidence,” the former Lazio tactician declared.

“We got through to the next round in the Champions League but we must quickly forget that because a very tricky and insidious match awaits us.”

Inzaghi admitted that his side were ready for a tough encounter against a difficult opponent, despite Sampdoria’s place in the relegation zone, and was looking forward to coming up against a former teammate in coach Dejan Stankovic.

“Stankovic is prepared, he played with me and I know he will do everything to put us in difficulty.

“We will find a very motivated Sampdoria who will do everything to put us in trouble,” Inzaghi added.

Striker Romelu Lukaku made his comeback from injury in the 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Wednesday, and remains on the bench as he attempts to build his fitness up, but the coach assured that he was recovering well.

“He is training without problems, we will try to increase his playing time but the important thing is that he continues to train in this way,” Inzaghi concluded.
