The agent of Inter Primavera striker Nikola Iliev has suggested that his client ought to be considered for the first team, whilst criticising the club’s lack of faith in youngsters.

Iliev has caught the eye at youth team level for the Nerazzurri this season, netting four goals against Viktoria Plzen in the Youth Champions League after scoring against Fiorentina in the Primavera league last week.

In an interview with FCInterNews.it, agent Kaloyan Ivanov argued that the 18-year-old Bulgarian deserved to be given a chance to impress at a higher level, and pointed to other clubs in Italy and Europe who were more willing to bet on young talent.

“He is certainly one of the best talents, even though there are a lot of strong guys,” Ivanov claimed.

“He finished last year very well, having an excellent season and not only leaving his mark in the semi-final, but also the final.

“Who wouldn’t think about making the bench in Serie A? I think he deserves it.

He has already shown the Nerazzurri that he can play in the first team when he was called up by Bulgaria and he expects it to happen soon,” he added.

“I have seen other top clubs in Serie A, such as Roma and Juventus, fielding youngsters in their games, whilst Napoli also did it last year.

“If we look abroad, Bayern Munich have bet on a class of 2005, and the big teams do it. I think Inter should open their eyes and think about the future.”

Meanwhile, the agent also admitted that Iliev required regular football at Inter or elsewhere, and that a loan move was not out of the question.

“I’m working on his future, there are great teams interested in him.

“He needs to get a chance in the first team at Inter. Other top clubs have already done so.”

Iliev’s impressive displays for the Primavera have resulted in a national team call-up for the Bulgaria senior team, and the former Botev Plovdiv striker made his debut in a 5-1 win over Gibraltar in September, before a second cap against North Macedonia.

To be honest, he played very well in both games he played, I can’t wait for it to happen again,” Ivanov concluded.
