Inter have been given a boost by reports that Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic may not be available for the Derby d’Italia next weekend.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Serbia international has seen a long-term adductor muscle injury flare up and will not be selected for the Bianconeri’s Serie A match against Lecce later today.

However, Juventus fear that their star striker may miss more crucial games due to the problem, including Wednesday’s home clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, which could see them knocked out of European competition entirely.

Following on from this, the Bianconeri host Inter in the Derby d’Italia next Sunday and Vlahovic faces a race against time to recover for the match, as the Turin club are wary of aggravating the injury by rushing him back.

Former Fiorentina striker Vlahovic will be assessed day by day, and a decision on his involvement against Inter will be taken at the end of the week.
