Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta has admitted that he is impressed with the form of Inter, and believe the Nerazzurri have found the right balance in midfield.

Simone Inzaghi’s side have secured four consecutive wins in Serie A since the start of October, with the latest coming in a 3-0 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza yesterday evening.

Appearing as a pundit on Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier today, and as reported by FCInter1908.it, the ex-Rossoneri star spoke of his admiration for the way Inter have been playing and was full of praise for the midfield.

“Inter now play very well, in the middle of the pitch they move the ball effectively,” the former Italy international declared.

“It seems to me that this is a midfield that gives more balance,” Costacurta continued.

“(Henrikh) Mkhitaryan is given a lot of the ball, he passes the ball well and the lack of (Marcelo) Brozovic is not felt.

“(Hakan) Calhanoglu has been moved there but he manages to do things that he couldn’t do as a midfielder before. The team has now stepped up and play very well,” he added.

Inter look to maintain their winning domestic run when the visit Juventus in the Derby d’Italia next Sunday, after facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Nerazzurri’s victory over Sampdoria saw them keep to within eight points of league leaders Napoli in the race for the Scudetto.
