Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has urged wing-back Robin Gosens to be patient, whilst praising the performance of Joaquin Correa in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri extended their winning run in Serie A to four games after Correa followed up goals from Stefan De Vrij and Nicolo Barella to put the Blucerchiati to the sword.

Speaking in his press conference after the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as reported by FCInterNews.it, Inzaghi was pleased to see Correa make an impact after working closely with him at previous club Lazio, and felt he could complement Inter’s other strikers.

“I’m happy because I know the boy well, I know what he can give us,” Inzaghi declared.

“There is a difference with Lukaku’s return to fitness, but Romelu is also working in the best possible way.

“They must be two important weapons because Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez played non-stop in October after the international break.”

Wing-back Gosens has struggled for playing time since his January arrival from Atalanta and was an unused substitute in the victory over Sampdoria, but Inzaghi was adamant that the Germany international could still play his part in the season, despite the form of Federico Dimarco.

“Gosens is very, very well. He’s at 100%, but I have to make some choices and Dimarco is giving me guarantees,” Inzaghi revealed.

“The same goes for (Raoul) Bellanova and (Matteo) Darmian, I wanted to include Gosens but I thought about changing the two forwards and with (Alessandro) Bastoni’s yellow card, I had to think about Juventus.

“I would have liked to include him but then I saw that (Hakan) Calhanoglu was tired.

“I am very happy with Robin, he is fully recovered, we have seen against Fiorentina how important he is and his time will come,” Inzaghi added.

Gosens has only made 23 appearances for Inter since his arrival, although he was hampered by an injury upon signing for the club.

The former Heracles wing-back has netted twice for the Nerazzurri, including against Barcelona in the Champions League this season.
