Football analysts Opta took to Social Media to highlight the goalscoring impact of Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, after he struck the second in their 3-0 win over Sampdoria yesterday.

The Italy international scored a magnificent goal to help Inter to victory in Serie A, and it came after he had previously scored in their two most recent games, against Salernitana and Fiorentina.

As reported by Opta, Barella is only the fourth Inter midfielder to achieve this, after Esteban Cambiasso, Ivan Perisic, and Hakan Calhanoglu.

“3 – Prior to Nicolò Barella only 3 Inter’s midfielders scored in 3 matches in a row in Serie A in the three points for a win era (since 1994/95): Cambiasso (in 2008), Perisic (in 2016) and Çalhanoglu (in 2021). Continuity,” Opta tweeted.
