The father of Juventus midfielder is hoping that he can repeat his heroics from the Bianconeri’s victory over Lecce in next Sunday’s Serie A clash with Inter.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Fagioli’s father Marco noted that the 21-year-old has always had an eye for goal, and hoped that he could continue to show it against the Nerazzurri.
Juventus struggled for long spells of their Serie A clash with Lecce over the weekend.
Bianconeri coach Max Allegri was forced to do without a number of his key players due to injury, and the team showed it on the pitch.
At halftime, Allegri put his faith in youth product Fagioli, putting the 21-year-old on as a substitute for the underperforming Weston McKennie.
Fagioli repaid the coach’s faith with a good display which he capped off with a brilliantly-taken strike to unlock the match and secure the narrow three points for an embattled Bianconeri.
Given that Juventus continue to deal with an injury crisis, there is a good chance that the 21-year-old will once again be seen against Inter next weekend, and his father would back him to find the back of the net again.
“As a youngster he scored from midfield with some frequency,” he explained of the Juventus midfielder, “hopefully he can do it again against Inter.”
