Inter defender Stefan de Vrij feels that the team have to keep up their current form by proving themselves against Bayern Munich tomorrow and then continuing their winning run in Serie A.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Sport, the Dutchman emphasized keeping the momentum going and having the team continue down the path they’ve set for themselves.

Inter have enjoyed a nearly perfect October after a dismal start in the form of a Serie A defeat to Roma.

That had been the Nerazzurri’s second consecutive loss in the league after their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Udinese before the September international break.

Now, Inter have won four in a row in the league, whilst four points against Barcelona and a win over Viktoria Plzen have seen the Nerazzurri secure their place in the Champions League round of sixteen.

This means that Inter’s final group stage match away to Bayern tomorrow won’t see either team having anything to play for, but this doesn’t mean it won’t be an important match.

“We want to continue on the path we’re currently on,” de Vrij said.

“Even though we’ve already reached the knockouts, we want to play a great match in Munich,” he continued, “it will be a great test for us.”

And of the next few matches in the league, de Vrij said that “Given where we still are in the table, we want to keep winning.”
