Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana was praised for his display in the 3-0 Serie A win over Sampdoria on Saturday evening, as he kept another clean sheet.

The summer arrival from Ajax impressed and earned positive reviews from Italy’s major newspaper outlets, after he kept Dejan Stankovic’s side at bay for the full game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as reported by L’Interista.it.

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted how Onana had recovered from conceded three goals in Inter’s 4-3 victory over Fiorentina by keeping a clean sheet against Sampdoria, days after also maintaining a shutout against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League.

The newspaper suggested that the Cameroon international had brought calmness to the defence and had reacted well to deny Ignacio Pussetto, in a performance that earned him a 6.5 in their player ratings.

Corriere dello Sport and Tuttomercatoweb afforded the 26-year-old the same rating, whilst he also received a 6.5 from L’Interista themselves.

However, Onana did not impress Tuttosport as much, and he ended the match with only a 6 in their ratings.
