Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich feels that there is little question that his team will be motivated to try and get a result against Inter.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of this evening’s Champions League clash between the two teams, as reported by FCInterNews, Kimmich stressed that the Bavarians want to keep the momentum up and get a result.

Bayern have managed to take fifteen points from fifteen in their Champions League group this season, guaranteeing themselves top spot in the group with a match to spare.

Meanwhile, Inter have secured their place in the knockout rounds in second with a match to spare as well, having taken ten points.

Both teams could well be inclined to see this evening’s match as an afterthought, at least on paper.

However, as Kimmich was keen to stress, the German champions do not want to let up in the momentum, as like Inter they’ve also given themselves a bit of work to do in their domestic league campaign with some early stumbles.

“Nobody wants to slow down now,” he said, “we don’t want to risk breaking the fragile balance that we’ve built.”

Kimmich continued that “We have been putting in great performances lately, although I think the performances had always been there.”

“I don’t think our momentum would be ruined if we don’t get a result against Inter, but we certainly want to anyway.”
