Inter forward Joaquin Correa feels that the Nerazzurri squad is totally focused on this evening’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the match, the 28-year-old stressed that even though the match will not affect the outcome of the group, the Nerazzurri are still treating it as an important objective to put in a good performance and fight for a result to prove themselves.

After last week’s matches, it is mathematically certain that Inter will qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League second in their group, whilst Bayern will top the group.

Accordingly, the pressure will not be too high for either team to get a result this evening.

However, the match will still be an important opportunity for the players to continue to build momentum for the rest of the campaign.

Moreover, the players who have had their trust put in them by coach Simone Inzaghi for this evening’s match will be aiming to repay the coach’s faith.

“Any player who’s selected to play will want to do well,” Correa said, “we’re focused and we want to play well.”

Of his goal against Sampdoria over the weekend, the Argentine said that “I’m happy for it, and I have a lot of desire to follow it up with something similar today.”

“I’m always looking to try and do what I can to help the team,” he said.
