Inter are still targeting Salernitana wingback Pasquale Mazzocchi as a replacement for Robin Gosens should the German leave.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 27-year-old is very much on the Nerazzurri’s radar and that Salernitana would be willing to listen to offers.

Pasquale’s form for Salernitana this season has marked him out as one of the outstanding candidates to replace Gosens as a left-sided wingback should the former Atalanta player leave.

Gosens could still have opportunities to make his mark at Inter, starting with this evening’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

However, the 28-year-old could look for a move away, possibly as early as January, if his situation with limited playing time doesn’t change.

Inter have already sent scouts to watch Mazzocchi on a number of occasions, and he remains high on their list of replacements for Gosens.

Salernitana would be willing to listen to offers for the Italian international, and would prefer to sell him next summer although it can’t be ruled out that they would consider selling him in the January transfer window if Gosens is to leave that early.

The Granata turned down an offer from Monza for Mazzocchi worth €3 million in the summer.

Given that the 27-year-old’s form has only improved this season, they would now expect a higher fee for him.

However, if the Nerazzurri were to test Salernitana’s resolve with an offer, an agreement could be found.
