Inter have no intention of taking any risks with the fitness of striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that a return ahead of the World Cup break would be relatively unlikely unless he is absolutely fully fit again.

Lukaku is currently out with a recurrence of the thigh strain which he had been out for a couple of months with.

The issue does not look to be too serious at the moment, but the worry would be that if the 29-year-old is rushed back from the problem that it could cause him to be out for a longer period.

For the Belgian, this will be a big worry in view of the looming start of the World Cup, which he is certainly aiming to play in.

For the Nerazzurri’s part, the intention is also very much to take no risks with Lukaku’s fitness.
