Inter attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni is pleased to have had the opportunity to have played in a tough away match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the 17-year-old stressed the importance of experiences like this in building his confidence within the senior game.

Carboni came off the bench in the second half of Inter’s 2-0 loss to Bayern.

Despite the result, the match had several aspects from which the Nerazzurri can take some confidence, and the fact that Carboni was able to come onto the pitch and look at home against one of Europe’s top sides at a difficult away ground was one of them.

The Argentine was happy with the experience.

Given his age, there are still many more steps that Carboni will have to start to take within the senior game if he is to fulfill his potential.

However, an appearance against a team like Bayern is exactly the kind of milestone that the Argentine needs at the point.

“I’m very happy to have played today, even if it was difficult because they’re such a strong side,” Carboni said.

“We have to keep working and improving from here.”
