Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella was his team’s most convincing performer in their 2-0 loss to Bayern Munich yesterday.

This is the view of today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who gave the 25-year-old the highest score of any Nerazzurri player in the player ratings for the Champions League group stage match.

Inter were not really able to show their quality in yesterday evening’s match, as they fell to another 2-0 loss to Bayern.

Both teams were fairly heavily rotated as the match had little competitive significance.

However, in the view of the Gazzetta, this does not excuse the fact that a number of Inter players’ performances were fairly unconvincing.

However, the newspaper does reserve some praise for Barella, who followed up his recent string of outstanding performances by looking up to par against a tough Bayern midfield.

The former Cagliari midfielder looked dynamic in the midfield battle against the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Marcel Sabitzer.
