Tottenham Hotspur assistant coach Cristian Stellini feels that there would be plenty to look forward to about a potential round of sixteen tie between the English side and Inter.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after Spurs qualified for the knockout rounds top of their group, Stellini gave his thoughts about the possibility of meeting he and Antonio Conte’s old team in the next round.

Spurs qualified for the Champions League round of sixteen in a dramatic final group stage match which saw them fall behind to Marseille before equalizing in the second half, and then finally winning it with the last kick of the game through Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg.

This goal was significant for the Premier League team, as it means that they will go into the round of sixteen draw top of their group rather than second.

As such, they will be among the teams who Inter could draw for the next round, having qualified from second spot in their own group.

Were this to be the draw, then the Nerazzurri would meet some familiar faces from their recent past in the form of Conte and Stellini.

Stellini, who was on the touchline for the match against Marseille due to a suspension to Conte, said that “This certainly wouldn’t be too bad from a point of view of the spectacle.”

“We won’t be unhappy whoever we get, and it would certainly have the feeling of an internal rivalry,” he added.
