Former Inter Sporting Director Marco Branca feels that an agreement can be found between Inter and Milan Skriniar on a contract extension if the two parties are on the same page.

Speaking to the Twitch channel of Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, as reported by FCInterNews, Branca gave his thoughts on the contract negotiations between the Nerazzurri and Skriniar.

Inter know that convincing Skriniar to remain at the club past the end of his current contract on financial grounds could be difficult.

Paris Saint-Germain and other European heavyweights could offer the 27-year-old a significant pay raise, something which the Nerazzurri would be unable to.

Meanwhile, on competitive and sporting grounds things could get murkier, although there is always the possibility that the player could seek to move to a different sporting project.

However, if the player feels settled at Inter and wants to stay, then an agreement could prove within reach.

“There are several factors to consider,” Branca said of the contract talks.

“Sincerity between the two sides matters,” he continued, “it’s always better to be clear.”

The former executive noted that “He himself has always said that he’s happy at Inter and doesn’t want to leave.”

“I hope that the Nerazzurri can make a financial effort, and then that there’s willingness on both sides, if they want to collaborate then it can get done.”
