Francesco Acerbi looks to be the favourite to start in defense for Inter in Sunday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old is ahead of Stefan de Vrij as a candidate to start at the heart of the Nerazzurri’s back three.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be aiming to put out something like his strongest possible starting eleven to face the Bianconeri.
After having significantly rotated the team against Bayern Munich during the week, the coach will turn to the team that he trusts most to get a result.
In defense, Acerbi and de Vrij have both started a number of matches so far this season.
However, Acerbi does appear to have the trust of the coach already after joining on loan from Lazio on the final day of the summer transfer window.
According to the Gazzetta, he will be the favourite to start against Juventus.
