Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic could be called up to the squad for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Juventus.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Croat is very close to a return from injury, although he would not likely start against the Bianconeri.

Brozovic has been putting the final touches on his return to fitness from the thigh strain that he picked up during the September international break.

There is optimism that over the remaining training sessions to go, the 29-year-old can recover sufficiently to be part of the squad to face Juventus.

However, a start would be very unlikely for Brozovic, particularly given the current form of the trio of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Nicolo Barella.

Nevertheless, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could have the 29-year-old as an option to call upon from the bench in Sunday’s Serie A match.
