Atalanta’s Columbian international striker Luis Muriel has been officially ruled out of his club’s Serie A match against Napoli on Saturday as well as against Inter the following weekend.

Atalanta released an official statement, on Thursday confirmed that Luis Muriel has picked up a partial tear to his right thigh.

This means he will miss the match against the Partenopei in the Serie A on Saturday at 18:00 CET at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples.

It also means that the Colombian striker will miss the match against Inter on Sunday 13th of November at 12.30 pm CET at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

No timetable has been given as of yet for the player’s return to the pitch.

The Columbian international striker has been a presence for the Bergamo-based club this season, as the player has made 9 appearances in Serie A adding one goal and two assists.

Muriel has made fifty percent of his appearances from the bench. The former Udinese and Sampdoria player joined Atalanta from Sevilla in July 2019 for a fee of €21 million.

He has made one hundred and thirty-seven appearances for La Dea, while scoring sixty goals and contributing twenty-four assists
