The Curva Nord ultras group have responded to the ban by authorities on their chanting, using drums, or waving banners or flags at Inter’s Serie A clash with Bologna on Wednesday.

Writing in a post on their official Facebook page, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nord ultras group stated that, despite the ban, they will be more fervent than ever in their support of the team and that they would all show up wearing Nerazzurri colours.

Members of the Curva Nord ultras have been banned from displays or chants at Wednesday’s Serie A match at the San Siro.

This is in response to the fact that members of the group had been responsible for forcing matchgoing fans to vacate the stadium’s north stand during the Nerazzurri’s last home fixture, against Sampdoria in Serie A.

However, for their part, the Nord ultras still plan to attend, and still plan to make their support felt even if they cannot perform many of their usual displays of support.

“Despite the bans, we are still planning to do what we always do and what we do best, which is to support the team,” the statement reads.

“Moreover, we’re convinced that this is exactly what Vittorio would have wanted,” it continues, referring to Nord leader Vittorio Boiocchi who was murdered shortly before the Sampdoria match.

“Therefore, the support will be there and it will be stronger than ever before.”

“We therefore ask all Inter fans in the north stand to wear black and blue, and a scarf to show their support for the team.”

“We’re united and proud, never dominated,” it concludes. “Avanti Inter, Avanti Curva Nord.”
